Types of Exterior Brick Wall Construction

• Three of the most popular exterior brick wall types are solid walls, cavity walls or veneer walls. 

  Solid Walls 

  Solid masonry brick walls will either be two or more layers thick and they boast a brick and mortar durability. Any type of solid wall made from brick is more resilient and long-lasting. 

  Cavity Walls 

  Another type of exterior brick wall is a cavity wall. This consists of an outerlayer of brick attached to an inner support, which can be made of either another brick wall, concrete block wall or just poured concrete. This type of brick wall is great for preventing water penetration. 

  Veneer Walls

  Veneer Walls can be a singer layer of bricks that are fastened to steel or wooden studs. They have an aesthetic appeal for many homeowners, are durable and fireproof. They require little maintenance or paint or stain.
